Neutrals + Blues

Last week we talked about how busy Todd and Tina have been lately with several big projects, and we're here to share the second of the two big installs they've had recently! (If you missed the blog post about their big outdoor install, check it out here!)

This install isn't 100% done, but it's looking so great that we couldn't help but share a few photos! We'll have more in the near future when all of the finishing touches have been added!

Designer Todd Prince says he loved working on this home and helping create a relaxing, inviting atmosphere with his selections. The foyer is beautifully detailed with a piece of art from View Gallery and a completely custom entry table. (Todd had the table built, the skirt custom made, and the custom stencil applied!)

Lastly, we bring you the master bedroom! This cozy, restful, spa-like retreat was created to be a get-away from everyday life. The custom bedding, Kerry Joyce pillows and Mr. Brown lamps beautifully accent the Vanguard uphostered headboard the Compendium Vanguard side tables.

Who wouldn't feel relaxed in this home?! Great work Todd. You nailed it, yet again!

Outdoor Oasis

Designer Todd Prince and his lovely assistant Tina had quite a busy week last week! They had two major installs, both of which we're excited to tell you about! One was interior and one was exterior, so today we're sharing the exterior one! With the lovely weather we had over the weekend, it just seems appropriate to keep up the spirit of outdoor entertaining...

This beautiful outdoor oasis is open, breezy, and (of course) weather proof! Todd picked all of the furniture from a couple of our favorite outdoor lines: Lee Industries and Summer Classics. It all blends together so perfectly!

All of the custom detail (like the custom banding on the bottom of the dining chairs, and the specially made drapery hardware) make this space interesting and personal as well as beautiful.

Gorgeous outdoor fabrics from Perennials (notice the contrast fabrics on the white arm chairs!), Nomi, Donghia, and Dedar add just the perfect amount of color and texture...

High Point Market Recap!

We sent a team to High Point Market last week to scope out the latest in furniture and home decor trends, and the report they came back with was outstanding!

Marty, Lisa, Todd, and Elizabeth got some amazing new furnishings for the showroom floor, but since we don't have any of them yet, they also brought back literally hundreds of pictures for us to see so the rest of us could feel like we were there.

Since we couldn't put all of their pictures up, here are a few of the highlights!

Meet Todd Prince

[caption id="attachment_3490" align="alignright" width="307" caption="Our newest designer Todd Prince"][/caption]

Help us welcome our newest designer to SummerHouse... Mr. Todd Prince! Todd is a Mississippi native and has just moved back from California to be closer to family, and of course to take one of the most exciting jobs in the South: a job as a designer with us!! :) We love having Todd around to help balance out our heavily weighted female staff!

To help you get to know Todd a little better, we asked him a few questions...

Laurel: Can you give us a nutshell of your background in interior design?

Todd: I opened Todd Prince interiors in Jackson in 1997. I then worked at JTM tile in Jackson before going to work with Walker Zanger Tile and Stone in June of 2000. I worked for Walker Zanger for 11 years. I worked as the branch manager of the Walker Zanger in Atlanta, San Francisco and Orange County, CA.

Laurel: Even though we know you can design around whatever look it is that your client is going for, what is your personal design style?

Todd: My personal style is probably a throw back to the 50's modern style.  I love retro pieces mixed into interiors.  I think they give rooms a fresh updated feel when mixed with items that are more transitional.  I do love eclectic interiors that are interesting and textural.

Laurel: So far, what's been the hardest part about moving back to MS from California?

Todd: What I miss most about CA is the weather!!  There is very little humidity there unlike Mississippi.  It is very easy to get used to no humidity!!

Laurel: What really gets your creative juices flowing? A certain designer's website, certain types of books, going to certain types of places..?

Todd: I am an avid reader...I love shelter magazines, mystery novels and southern fiction.  I get alot of creativity from reading.  Music is also very inspiring to me.  I love jazz....give me a some Diana Krall and a great glass of wine and I'm good to go!!!!

Laurel: If we were to secretly follow you around on a lazy Sunday, what might we find you doing?!

Todd: If you followed me on a lazy Sunday afternoon you'd find me in the kitchen.  I love to cook.  It relaxes me.  The best part is when you are done relaxing you have great food to enjoy!!!

Laurel: Anything else you'd like to share with our readers?

Todd:  I have a great family.  That is the best part of being back in MS.  Being able to spend time with my family without airplanes involved is great!!!

Thank you so much, Todd!! We are all so excited to have you on the team and can't wait for all the fun the future holds! :)
