Portico Ad Photo Shoot Outtakes!

We had such a blast this morning at a little photo shoot for a joint Portico Jackson Magazine ad coming out in the next issue!

We're teaming up with Hemline Ridgeland, View Gallery, and Arco Avenue on a collaborative ad about style of all mediums at The Township!

The great art is a Paul Edelstein painting from View Gallery, the clothes are from Hemline, all the killer shoes and bags are from Arco, and the furniture is, of course, SummerHouse! Here are a few outtakes from the shoot. Stay tuned for the full ad once we have the winning photo selected and all "prettied up!" :)

VIEW

We found ourselves leaving View Gallery very inspired over the weekend. The art collection that this boutique gallery currently houses is absolutely breathtaking! We've always loved owner Phyllis Geary and adored her taste when it comes to art, so it's no surprise that she has some great inventory... But the Sophia paintings she had outside on Saturday were absolute traffic-stoppers!

There is no denying that those are some gorgeous paintings right there!
As we walked inside, we were completely taken aback at just about everything Phyllis had in there. Take a quick look at just some of our favorites...

See why we love this place?!
Our designers are PROS at placing art, so let us help you pick just the right piece to go on that empty wall or in that little nook that you've wanted to spruce up! You know where to find us! ;)

The Township Jazz Festival

{  MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  }

The Township Jazz Festival date has been announced: Saturday, May 5!

This is one event you do not want to miss! The headliner this year is Mose Allison (who is a pretty big deal!) The festival gets started around noon and will go til 7. And since the fest is on Cinco de Mayo, you can just pick up and head over to Sombra for some Mexican fun as the festival closes down!

We'll keep you posted about the exciting plans SummerHouse has for that day as the time draws nearer. But go ahead and mark your calendars for some guaranteed fun on May 5!

Christmas Open House: A Success!

We had so much fun at the Christmas open house last Thursday!  We were glad that so many people were able to make it out!  Viking provided us with some really awesome baked brie and bite sized desserts, and the Madison Central Madrigals and RHS choir delivered some beautiful holiday music.  The horse and carriage rides (which guests were able to "buy" with a donation to CARA) got rave reviews from everyone we talked to!

Perhaps the things we were MOST excited about at the open house were our trunk shows!  Ann Taylor Duease, founder and designer for Adonis, brought her gorgeous handmade jewelry to show.  She ended up having a pretty successful night! :) And our Jonathan Adler trunk show ended up being the most beautiful, colorful corner in the store! It is still set up if you were unable to come see it on Thursday.

We have already started working on ideas to make next year's open house even better!! So you'll have to be sure to come back!  Maybe by next year, we will have our new neighbors, Newk's and Majestic Burger, up and running!

Hopefully this picture of our sweet (and HILARIOUS) carriage driver, Wayne, with a couple of our open house guests will make you smile on this chilly Monday!  If you didn't get to meet Wayne this year, then you MUST come back next year.... If you have never talked to him, you are missing out!

Merry Christmas!
